the fourth day

So today I’m running boring errands and doing daunting and mountainous paper work (boo!), maybe sneaking a small amount of op shopping if I can… I thought it was going to be cold-ish (ie, 25, cloudy and windy like the weather report suggested), hence the tights, but it appears to be very humid and warm. At least my tights cover the giant bandaids now on my knee.

This dress was pilfered by me from my mum’s costume cupboard a few years ago. She found it at an op shop with the intention of using it for a costume, brought it home, and I promptly “borrowed” it. I’ve had a so long now it feels silly to give it back, right?

So I’m wearing op shop/costume cupboard dress (it’s made of cream brocade, so awesome. And it’s possible home-made, although I can’t really tell…), op shop bag, homemade necklace (from op shop brooch and random chain), Totomoto ring (Totomoto is my favourite Perth jewellery label. Designed by the amazing Cynthia Ellis, the primarily gold and brass pieces feature lots of nature: bees, flowers, beetles, birds, seahorses, and natural stones from WA. So good!), op shop shoes.

And my little old car, Celeste, who faithfully drives me around. Well, except when it’s above 30 degrees. Or when I drive above 90km an hour. Or if I drive for longer than an hour and a half at a time… Yeah, it’s going to be a long summer. Look out for me, I’ll be the one by the side of the freeway trying to stop my car from throwing a tantrum, like the petulant child she is.
