I got a really heart-warming message yesterday from two lovely girls, Kate and Erin, who design On A Whim, a great little label made in Perth from vintage and recycled fabrics. What they do is pretty much the epitome of my hundred mile sartorial diet (everything is sewn by them in their little home studios from op-shopped fabric/their grandma’s fabric donations), and they offered to give me a dress to wear! I’m very excited, as I love their designs and have had my eye on them ever since I saw On A Whim at a market a little while ago. They’re stallholders at the Made On The Left markets this Sunday if you want to check them out, if I wasn’t working I’d be there with bells on.
It’s raining today, which unless you live in Perth, isn’t really a big deal. However, it hasn’t rained in a pretty long time here and I think we had one of the driest winters ever, so water falling from the sky is somewhat of a novelty. I can’t find my gumboots, otherwise I would totally be wearing them (they’re op shopped, don’t worry!)
I’m wearing op shop leather skirt (altered a little by me), op shop belt, op shop blouse, homemade necklace, Totomoto ring, op shop shoes, op shop bag (it’s an old Nutrimetics case that I normally use as my kit, but today it’s standing in as my handbag). It’s not really that cold, but I have my trusty Hogwarts cape just in case.
